The Weasleys Character Symbols

Liberating Symbology

Alchemy is a spiritual process involving the physical body as much as the invisible bodies. The endocrine system is involved very intimately with the process of transmutation and transfiguration that changes a mortal, imperfect child of nature to an immortal, perfect child of the Potter of the Divine Universe.

Each endocrine gland is linked to an etheric-astral organ called a chakra. The chakras look like whirlpools of light on the surface of the etheric body and their function is to attract and absorb various types of energy from the environment. In Harry Potter the 7 endocrine glands and their chakras are personified by the Weasley family.

Weasley Family In Egypt In the normal child of nature the chakras rotate in a clockwise direction and suck in natural energy from the fallen universe in which we live. One of the great changes achieved by transmutation is to bring the rotation of the chakras to a halt and then make them rotate in an anticlockwise direction. They will then suck in the divine energy from the eternal universe, lifting the alchemist above all limitation of time and space.

Ginny Weasley

Ginny

Ginny personifies the root chakra and its associated glands, the gonads. This chakra is bright red. Its stem is attached to the spine near the sacral plexus, symbolised in Harry Potter by The Chamber of Secrets. In Liberating Alchemy the new divine soul (Harry) descends along the right string of the sympathetic nerve, stopping at the sacral plexus. The kundalini force is situated there, rolled up like a serpent. The new soul meets the power of the subconscious mind (Tom Riddle) there. After an intense inner spiritual struggle the new soul defeats the serpent of the kundalini, which contains all the alchemist's karma, and then destroys the power of the subconscious mind. The new soul is now master of his karma and his subconscious mind. The cessation of the rotation of the root chakra is symbolised by Ginny being unconscious. When Harry destroys Riddle's power, Ginny wakes up, symbolising the anticlockwise rotation of the root chakra.

Ronald Bilius Weasley

Ron has a double role in that he personifies both the soul of the ordinary earthly personality residing in the spleen-liver system (see Ron in Character Symbols page) but also the spleen chakra linked to the pancreas. Bilius is made from the word bilious, an imbalance of bile, produced by the liver.

Fred and George

Fred and George

The Weasley twins personify the adrenal glands sitting on top of the kidneys, and the navel chakra which is linked to them. They are mentioned on two occasions in connection to toilet seats, a subtle reference to their position as sitting on top of the body's toilet (the kidneys). The navel chakra is divided into ten segments, alternately red and green.

Percy Weasley

Percy

Percy is short for Percival, in the Grail legends often called Parsifal. Percy personifies the heart chakra, linked to the thymus. This chakra is of a golden colour, and in the legends is referred to as the shield of the Knight of the Holy Grail. Parsifal on his quest sees a golden city, but when he approaches it, it vanishes. Percy is also on a quest and his golden city is the Ministry for Magic. But before the end of book 7 Percy sees his ambitions go up like smoke and he is left empty handed. He sees the error of his ways and declares his loyalty to his family and to Harry.

Throat Chakra

Charlie

The throat chakra, linked to the thyroid, is personified by Charlie. This chakra is referred to in the legends as the sword of the Knight of the Holy Grail. This is because it endows the victorious alchemist with the ability to create things by his words. This is called the creative fiat. When the new soul, Harry, has passes this chakra on his journey from the root chakra to the crown chakra, or from the sacral plexus to the pineal gland, the throat chakra starts to rotate in an anticlockwise direction, symbolically giving the new soul the two-edged sword, which is also mentioned in the vision John has on Patmos. This sword makes Harry invincible.

Arthur and Molly Weasley

Arthur and Molly

The brow chakra is divided in two halves, one of which is red and the other indigo. This fact JK Rowling used to make Arthur red headed and, as his descendants, all the children. In addition the gland linked to the brow chakra is the pituitary gland, known as the master gland, because it controls all the other glands. The pituitary gland or hypophysis is divided into two lobes, oppositely charged. This is why Arthur and Molly are heads of the Weasley family. The front lobe controls the region of the head and the back lobe controls the region of the heart. When the brow chakra rotates anticlockwise, the divine consciousness is born. Arthur and Molly help Harry in a most essential way to gain the final victory.

Crown Chakra

Bill

The most beautiful and powerful chakra is personified by Bill Weasley. The crown chakra has 960 petals all of a beautiful violet colour, and a central whirlpool of twelve golden petals. In people who have attained enlightenment this whirlpool looks like a golden crown on top of the head, and is symbolised in statues of the Buddha by a knot of hair on top of the head. The gland connected to this chakra is the pineal gland. This is symbolised by Dumbledore's office. In the climax of Harry Potter both Bill and Dumbledore's office play a key role because this is where the Holy Spirit enters to perform the Alchemical Wedding. This wedding is the eternal unification of the spirit, the soul and the personality.

Fleur Delacour

Fleur Delacour

In Part 7 Bill and Fleur marry. During the Alchemical Wedding the head of the alchemist opens up to the Holy Spirit like a flower, and the Wondrous Golden Flower radiates from the alchemist's crown. Before the wedding, the central "whirlpool" of the crown chakra is a concave depression in the chakra, but after enlightenment this central part becomes convex and stands out like a golden crown: The Flower of the Court. The wedding of Bill and Fleur shows what Harry Potter is really about: the entrance of the Divine Spirit, bringing enlightenment through a new consciousness, and eternal life in the original universe of God.
